We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Actuarial Technician to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team.

The role
In this role the successful candidate will support the production of monthly financial management information (MI) as well as supporting continuous improvement and projects. On a day-to-day basis this could involve reviewing and processing impacts through our spreadsheets, liaising with stakeholders and monitoring controls.
It's a varied role where you will be able to put your problem-solving skills and initiative to good use in helping to communicate the key drivers behind our results. It’s also a good opportunity to build knowledge of the life insurance business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide input into the development of financial processes to ensure the production of the required outputs is in an efficient manner as possible.
- Ensure all data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support Senior Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries and other senior managers in their objective of meeting business and regulatory requirement, including communication of Actuarial results and analysis.
- Balancing competing priorities on different pieces of work in challenging timescales.
- Being able to adapt to the requirements of different types of work by planning and organising effectively.
- Keeping technical & business knowledge up to date in area of expertise.
- Ensuring a continually high quality of output to ensure solutions are a good fit for the end user and/or for further input.

What are we looking for?
Essential
- Experience in an actuarial role, or relevant degree level qualification
- Strong Excel and MS office skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise effectively while maintaining high standards
- Confident working in a fast-paced changing environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience of Life Insurance products, processes and reporting
- Problem solving ability
- Experience delivering continuous improvement
