In the role of Data Analytics Analyst, you will actively look for opportunities to provide insightful management information across the business having an awareness of current gaps in reporting. Working with multiple stakeholders you will build strong data models and transform data into meaningful reports on which firm business decisions can be based. This will involve carrying out advanced data analytics to ensure the data is fully understood and all messages conveyed in a clear and visual form.

You will have the imagination and creativity to present reporting in a range of engaging ways to aid understanding, having your customers’ interests at the heart of your work.

What you'll do

Key responsibilities will include

  • Develop self-service tools that will allow the business to access clear data trends and values.
  • Creatively design and build insightful reports and datasets using Power BI and Excel on a regular and ad-hoc basis to enable day-to-day operational management and support new propositions.
  • Depending on experience full training and support will be provided to help achieve required competency.
  • Extract and transform raw data using SQL.
  • Establish and embed a robust process for the end-to-end fulfilment of reporting requests.
  • Embrace and encourage the use of technology to deliver fit for purpose reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement underpinned by data and insights.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret and articulate results to stakeholders with various technical knowledge levels.
  • Be deadline focused, meeting and anticipating the fast paced needs of the business.
  • Understand the data and identify and convey any trends or themes.
  • You will work independently on specific projects, from the scoping of requirements through to final delivery of solid reports. This will involve managing stakeholder expectations, personal skills development and delivering within agreed timescales.
  • Be given clear career progression and the opportunity to complete further study e.g. CII examinations.

Key skills/experience required

  • Excel capabilities, including Pivot Tables & Formulae.
  • Good communicator and willingness to present to Senior Stakeholders.
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using a data visualisation tool.
  • Ability to interpret data and spot trends.
  • The knowledge of and ability to construct large data models confidently and adhering to best practise.
  • Ideally educated to degree standard or equivalent, or demonstrable equivalent business experience in Data Analytics, Economics, Data Science or similar.
