The role

We’re currently looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Asset Management team on a permanent basis. You will report to the BAU (Business as Usual) Senior Finance Analyst and as our new Finance Analyst, you will be supporting the month end and year end deliverables to achieve value for our stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation and posting of accounting adjustments (accrual and prepayment journals) including challenging/assessing appropriate back-up
  • Develop a good understanding and working knowledge of the underlying source systems, accounting for the transactions recorded on the systems and in the ledgers
  • Proactive ownership of month-end schedules
  • Manage the Asset Management accounts payable process with regards to PO, SOW and budget checks
  • Ownership of cost centre admin management, data input and reporting
  • Support with Anaplan system implementation and day-to-day use; including data input and reporting
  • Prepare financial MI to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Assist managers and the wider Asset Management Expenses Team with ad-hoc requests for information
  • Consider impact of any organisational design changes and reflect impact on budget
  • Support on-going delivery of robust, effective and efficient operational, finance processes and controls
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (HR, Group finance, external vendors) to streamline data requests and create efficiencies
  • Identify, plan and implement process improvements
  • Control gaps identified and solutions raised and implemented to provide assurance over financial processes
  • Liaise with auditors and answer audit queries
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procedures and processes and maintain evidence/audit trail as required

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

  • Educated to part-qualified / level (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW or equivalent)

Experience

  • Good level of accounting knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of financial systems and controls; experience of working in a Financial Services environment, in particular working with business related accounting systems, is desirable
  • Great knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and the ability to build close working relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to produce quality output within demanding deadlines, whilst adapting to changing external requirements
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Experience in a change environment is desirable
