PhoreMost is a new-model drug discovery company based in Cambridge UK, interested in opening-up a new druggable space using a cutting-edge approach called PROTEINi®. We have developed a next-generation phenotypic screening platform called SITESEEKER® to identify the best new targets for future therapies and also developed a drug discovery pipeline to progress a rich pipeline of first-in-class drugs to the market. PhoreMost has developed several partnerships and drug discovery programmes spanning multiple therapeutic areas including oncology, immuno-oncology and targeted protein degradation. Our technology is massively expanding the diversity of novel therapeutics for several key diseases of unmet clinical need – we are drugging the undruggable®.
The role
We are seeking for enthusiastic and motivated students to join our Target Discovery and Target Biology teams for a one-year industrial placement to contribute to our screening pipeline and contribute to the discovery of new undruggable targets for unmet diseases!
During this year placement you will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of biologists, and you will gain experience in:
- Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, molecular cloning, DNA isolation, bacterial transformation, western blot)
- Tissue culture work in mammalian cells (cell line banking and expansion, transfection/lentiviral transduction, proliferation and viability assays, compound screening)
- Establish optimal conditions for assay feasibility and pooled functional genetic screens setup
- Review literature on a given topic (i.e. cancer, TPD) to design and execute assays and interpret results.
About you
