The role
Imagine yourself as an intern in the role of a Trade Support Analyst, where you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work within the Portfolio Associate team and closely support Traders, and Portfolio Managers, building relationships with various teams across the organization. You will be exposed to the inner workings of a global trade floor and contribute to its smooth operation.
During your internship, you will apply your mathematical and fixed income training to actively monitor portfolios, assisting Portfolio Associates and Managers in managing risk and client assets. You will have the opportunity to provide creative solutions, develop tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team. You will have the chance to showcase your skills and make a real impact.

About you
You’re eligible to apply if you
- Are an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree with an expected graduation date of December 2023 – June 2024
- Have a minimum 2:1 from an accredited university
- Are business proficient in English
You’ll excel as a Trade Support Analyst if you

- Show a strong interest in the financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance.
- Possess outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced, time-critical environment.

- Exhibit the following traits: ethical approach, collaboration, organized, flexible, high energy, proactivity, accountable, result orientation, high attention to detail.
- Have undertaken finance, fixed income, and/or capital markets coursework (recommended but not required)
- Demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency in Python
Responsibilities of the role (if you became an Analyst)
- Ensuring investment objectives are reflected across portfolios in scope.
- Coordinating with Portfolio Management and Trading on re-balancing of portfolios and implementing risk trades.
- Utilizing proprietary risk systems for monitoring of portfolio exposures.
- Assisting in account transitions and cash flow management.
- Conducting performance and attribution analyses.
- Monitoring portfolio positions and products versus client guidelines in concert with Compliance team.
- Responding to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team.

- The PIMCO Summer Internship Program will run from mid June – mid August 2023
- During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing you with the skills, knowledge, and relationships that will prepare you for success.
