Product Analysts
Product Analysts will participate in a development programme (details below) designed for a career in investment management, providing broad exposure to financial markets, product design / development and distribution, portfolio analysis, and/or client communication. Analysts will work within the Product Strategy Group, a global team of over 130 professionals responsible for financial market expertise (both internally and externally), strategic business management, entrepreneurship and marketing for a wide range of PIMCO product lines. The analyst development programme is aimed at preparing successful participants for career opportunities throughout the investment management industry and/or for application to top-tier business schools.
Product Analysts will work with one or multiple specialty teams that focus on covering specific investment strategies or conducting broader client portfolio analysis and optimisation. Analysts will gain a strong understanding of the business of investment management across market segments. Responsibilities vary between teams but may include the following:
- Market and economic updates
- Portfolio commentaries
- Risk and performance attribution
- Client portfolio analytics and investment strategising
- Competitor intelligence
- Client presentation materials
Career development, training and mentoring
The PIMCO Fundamentals training programme will provide you with the skills, knowledge and relationships that will prepare you to succeed as you start the Analyst programme. Formal and informal training will continue throughout your time in the programme, creating a rigorous learning environment. The objective is to provide you with a diverse learning experience across products and key disciplines within investment management. In addition, you will gain extensive exposure to industry experts within Product Strategy as well as other functional teams across the firm. Mentoring is a critical component of your success; you will be teamed with a seasoned professional who will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the programme.
Analyst Programme & Beyond
- Starts in early July 2022
- Typically a 3-5 year Analyst/Associate programme
- Formal Mentor Programme
- Firm-wide and Product Strategy Group specific dedicated Training Programme
- Review/feedback throughout the Programme with designated Manager and Programme Managers
- Eligible for promotions throughout programme (e.g., to Associate)
Requirements
- Final year of study with an anticipated graduation date between December 2021 and June 2022.
- Expected minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) at an accredited college or university.
- Fluent in English.
