We supply tyres to many of the world’s major Motor brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche, Range Rover, Lamborghini, Bentley and Aston Martin to name a few.

    To promote early career development, we hire placement students on an annual basis across a wide range of disciplines. A 12 month placement is available within the Human Resources Department. This role involves supporting the HR department involving all aspects of the employee life cycle including resource planning, on boarding, recruitment and selection, and discipline and grievance arrangements.

    As well as being a key member of the HR team, you will also be one of our intern community. Assistance will be provided in sourcing appropriate accommodation, but financial assistance for accommodation will not be given. Students must have a valid work permit/visa for the UK.

    The opportunity is based at our site in Carlisle, Cumbria with great transport links to major cities and the Lake District.

    Main duties include

    • Processing of information relating to new and existing employees including vacancy clearance, advertising, issue of contracts, maintenance of HR records and leaver documentation
    • Responding to requests for information from line management, employees and approved external agencies
    • Weekly management of absence management policy, Processing of information relating to absence records, liaising with Occupational Health and line managers to support employees in their return to work
    • Assisting in revision and improvement of Company HR Policies and Procedures, including preparation of new policies where required by law.
    • Providing support as required to other HR Teams including Training.

    Our requirements

    • Good level of general education
    • Undergraduate/Post graduate level education (in relevant subject)
    • Good keyboard skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Organisational skills and ability to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
    • Given the nature of the work, strong interpersonal skills, a high level of confidentiality and good emotional resilience are key personal qualities for the role
    • A good level of attention to detail and the ability to retain information
    • Flexibility and target orientated
