    About the Role

    Business Development at PitchBook is the engine that drives our growth and our Sales Development department is the beating heart of that engine. Our Sales Development Representatives are the first point of contact for the vast majority of our new business opportunities. This is a highly visible role that makes a direct and significant impact on our business.

    Sales Development Representatives work diligently to engage incoming leads and prospect potential new business for the Business Development (Outside Sales) team. Sales Development Representatives contribute to the delivery of overall sales goals by engaging warm leads through consistent call and email outreach to book product demos.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Achieve demo, call volume and other outreach goals measured at a daily, weekly and monthly cadence while providing an excellent experience for prospective customers
    • Connect with your primary inbound prospect pipeline through written and verbal communication in order to book demos that show off the PitchBook product offering and drive deal closure
    • Continue to prospect your marketing leads by searching for key points of contact through the PitchBook Platform
    • Drive engagement with prospects through personally crafted sequences and/or marketing provided materials via Highspot
    • Act as a consultant - take the time to understand your clients’ needs and business priorities and address them by asking thorough and pointed questions as well as guiding potential clients through needs analysis and discovery sessions to qualify the lead and drive new opportunities
    • Work closely with Outside Sales to learn about the needs of our clients and the end-to-end sales cycle

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
    • Prior internship experience or one year of work experience, ideally in finance or sales
    • Love to prospect – you will act as the engine of our Sales team, warming up leads to be shared with Outside Sales
    • Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results
    • Possess strong prioritization skills
    • Love to meet and exceed goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
    • Naturally and highly curious
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Possess strong negotiation skills and can effectively close leads
    • Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to try new ideas in order to achieve greater levels of success
    • Self-motivated, persistent and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
    • Interested in financial markets or services, particularly private equity and venture capital
