Ponda is a materials science company that makes planet-positive textiles. Our mission is to build completely new supply chains for the fashion industry by reimagining everything from farming to manufacturing. To do this, ponda works with farmers and conservation groups to grow plants that heal areas of damaged land. Through this, they gain a source of raw material for textile production whilst simultaneously improving biodiversity, capturing carbon and saving resources.

Our first product, BioPuff® is a next-generation insulation, which reduces reliance on feather and synthetic fillers, and is created by extracting fibres from plants that are grown on regenerated wetlands. BioPuff® is puffy, warm, and naturally water repellent - it’s also cruelty-free and traceable all the way from plant to puffer.

Position overview

Ponda is seeking a dynamic and motivated Engineering Intern to join our process development team for a 12-week internship. As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our process development team to design, prototype, and build solutions aimed at creating novel textile materials from regenerative natural fibres. This internship offers hands-on experience at our facility and workshop in Bristol, building valuable skills in sustainable engineering and process development.

Outside of this, you will learn about our regenerative agricultural supply chain, addressing the design challenges which arise when working with seasonal natural materials. You will contribute to real-world projects, many of which are in partnership with established fashion brands.

If you think you fit the bill below, please apply through team tailor with a CV, short cover letter and portfolio. We look forward to hearing from you!
