As a Production Planner (Undergraduate Placement Scheme), you will interpret demand/forecasts into an operational production plan and support the execution of the plan to achieve top levels of service, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and issue production schedules using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supporting systems to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts of customer orders in conjunction with manufacturing lead times.
- Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions through an agreed process.
- Identify and work with Production to minimise constraints with the support of the Planning Manager.
- Maintain short and long term demands to maintain level workloads within production where possible in line with agreed PSO rates.
- Coordinate priorities between multiple departments.
- Update key performance indicators where required.
- Attend daily meetings to discuss issues which may affect schedule and work with relevant departments to resolve any issues.
- Identify and assign turnover at every opportunity
- Run line availability and update daily.
- Investigate, with root cause analysis, material shortages and late customer orders.
Qualifications
- Studying for an undergraduate degree in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Management with Logistics etc. (Crucial))!
- Ability to identify, prioritise and work to strict timescales.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High levels of digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
