    What You Need to Know

    We are looking for a Reporting Accountant who would join our finance team, based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. The role will report directly to the Group Accounting Manager and will assist them in the delivery of the department’s responsibilities.

    The Group Finance team is defined into 5 key work streams – Finance; Accounting; Tax; Credit Control; and Financial Planning & Analysis. This role will be sits within the “Accounting” work stream. 

    What We Are Looking For

    Some of the Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following:

    • Support in the Group's external reporting activities including:

      • Support in the preparation of the Group consolidated financial statementsd in accordance with IFRS
      • Support in the preparation of UK and Far East statutory accounts
      • Pro-actively contribute to relationships with external auditors on a Global basis
      • Support in accounting for acquisitions and disposals
    • Support the Group's Balance Sheet accounting & governance activities including:

      • Assist in the monitoring of the Balance Sheet governance framework including oversight and review of reconciliation routines, ensuring issues are resolved timely
      • Support in any Internal Audit reviews undertaken by the Group accounting team
    • Pro-actively support in the function readiness for ERP Upgrade (D365):

      • Ensure across the Group general ledger reconciliations are up to date and balances transitioned are accurate, in line with policy guidance and reflect the supportable position of the business
      • Validate the existence including location and valuation of our fixed asset and inventory portfolio of the business
      • Help drive a consistent global approach to optimise the use and reporting of the ERP System
    • Support in the Group's Compliance activities including:

      • Monitor the consistent application of Group accounting policies (IFRS)
      • Monitor, assess and support in the implementation of new Accounting Standards
      • Support in the implementation and monitoring of the Global internal control framework
      • Provide advice on technical accounting matters in accordance with Group accounting policies (IFRS)
      • Communicate and support ion the training to all sites on changes to Group accounting policies and technical accounting updates
    • Be a strong coach to develop junior finance team members as well as non-finance colleagues
    • Perform any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified to meet business requirements.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Degree qualified (or time served in a suitable role).
    • Qualified accountant

    Skills & Experience

    • Exam qualified or nearing exam qualification
    • Proven track record in the practical application of accounting knowledge - ideally within a complex environment on a global scale.
    • Strong evidence of statutory accounts preparation and management
    • Proven background in maintaining strong financial processes, risk and governance
    • Strong technical accounting skills. Enjoys being technically up to date with the ability to roll this knowledge out to the business
    • Good experience of working with auditors and advisors
    • Excellent coach and communicator
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and take responsibility for effectiveness of own work
    • Demonstrate good planning and organisational skills, with ability to react quickly to changes in priorities
    • Confident; driven; and ambitious - but a down to earth individual
    • Strong verbal and written skills.
    • Excellent ERP experience.
    • Strong MS Office skills.
