PGIM has a multi-manager model which comprises of 7 autonomous asset management businesses each specialising in a particular asset class. This specific role will be working within PGIM Investments, which is the distribution division of PGIM. It concentrates on the Financial Intermediary market (e.g. GFIs, IFAs, Discretionary Wealth Managers) and offers advisory services for investments and portfolio management on behalf of the affiliate managers.
UCITS & QIF Fund Range
In 2013 due to both Retail and Institutional client demand, PGIM launched an Irish domiciled UCITS platform (PGIM Funds PLC). This UCITS initiative (and the legacy QIF platform) propelled the need to create a London based group, and in 2015 a business decision was made for PGIM Investments to develop and grow this business further.
Currently the UCITS fund range has around $7 billion in AUM, across over 50 UCITS funds, managed by 4 of the PGIM affiliates: PGIM Fixed Income, PGIM Real Estate, Jennison Associates and PGIM Quantitative Solutions (PQS) / PGIM Wadhwani.
This range of funds is continually being reviewed and expanded based on client’s needs and the increasing drive by investors to contribution to society and the environment through their personal finances.
Principal duties and responsibilities
The role of the Account Manager is to work closely with the Country Head of UK region (as well as the Sales Manager from this region) to ensure the long-term growth of the regional channel. This role is office based, providing support to Sales team with the following tasks:
- Allowing the Sales team to spend the majority of their time on external focused activities.
- Assisting the Sales team by responding to client and prospect queries; both investment-related and operational.
- Supporting the Sales team across the entire sales process from qualifying to closing
Key responsibilities
- Proactively managing and resolving internal issues relating to winning business. Liaising with internal departments (Client Services, Marketing, Fees, Legal, etc.) as part of the sales cycle.
- Helping the Sales team prepare for prospecting meetings with clients and coordinating all follow up items (Including Presentations & Compliance approvals).
- Maintaining information on prospects, target clients and updating critical management information about prospects and clients into Salesforce, and other relevant business systems.
- Working closely with Marketing, Product and other teams to prepare required materials for client meetings.
- Working with the Sales team on the regional account objectives, looking for ways as a team to help drive platform placement activity, grow relationships and the business.
Client Focus (Internal and External)
- Partnering with the Sales team to develop strong business relationships
- Delivering excellent client service (both internally & externally) by providing. accurate and timely information, as well as helping with problem resolution.
- Coordination of RFIs/RFPs, client reporting, sales presentations & collateral fulfilment to ensure that all processes are meeting required deadlines.
- Coordinating with Portfolio Managers for client meetings, assisting with briefing notes, as well as handing logistics when ‘on the road’ with Portfolio Managers & Specialists.
- Working closely with the corresponding Regional Account Managers (US, EMEA, APAC) to deliver a geographically seamless client experience for global firms.
- Working closely with Marketing to assist with the necessary input and support for regional events the Sales team attends.
- Joining client calls (as required) to assist with notes and client follow ups.
Business Management (Internal)
- Assisting with streamlining processes and assist Salesforce enhancements as well as other adhoc projects.
- Assist the Country head’s and Sales team to gather data for business management reports.
- As a team, developing a long-term strategy for growth and client development, including sales and marketing, and overall direction and expansion into the UK & Ireland region.
Team Role (Internal)
- As the team expands, assisting with the training of new account managers: by sharing best practices and providing excellent client service both internally and externally.
- Occasionally cover and support the other regions.
About you
Qualifications required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of financial services experience; third party sales experience desirable.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- IMC desirable.
Experience required
- Focused on excellent client service and relationship management both internally & externally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains high level of productivity, self-direction, integrity & ethical standards.
- The ability to manage several projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to problem solve and be flexible in approach.
- The individual should possess an understanding of investment products and process.
- Strong command of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Salesforce knowledge preferable.
