    The opportunity

    As our Leeds function continues with its growth plans, we have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our Reporting CoE team. You will execute Corporate Reporting activities ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data, support ad-hoc data analytics and to liaise with external and internal customers to manage expectations and ensure continued process excellence. This will involve using the wide variety of the evolving stack of available reporting and analytical tools.

    The Reporting CoE is a newly created team within the QBE EO Finance function with a remit to own and deliver the single version of the financial truth to the groups internal and external reporting functions. The Reporting CoE is striving to deliver best in class financial reporting results in the most efficient and effective manner.

    The roles and exposure within the Reporting CoE are very broad with excellent exposure across the finance function and offer an excellent opportunity to get to the heart of the EO divisional numbers.

    Your primary responsibilities will include

    • Oversee and execute broad range of report production and data manipulation activities, enabling delivery of robust financial results, working in conjunction with Financial Control & Finance Operations functions 
    • Identify, contribute to and manage the ongoing refinement of process, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency, automation and control across Corporate Reporting activities
    • Collaborate with and support cross training of more junior colleagues, working on reporting activities, at offshore shared services centre
    • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations 
    • Oversee and execute controls / checks on data to ensure robust datasets used for reporting
    • Oversee and execute input of data entries and adjustments into the relevant systems to deliver group reporting
    • Support ad-hoc analytical and reporting requests

    Your story so far

    In order to thrive in the role of a Financial Accountant here at QBE, we would expect you to have working experience in most of the following areas:

    • Part qualified accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent or have relevant years of working experience
    • Experience of a continuous improvement environment and a passion to identify and deliver efficiencies with tasks/teams
    • Understanding and commitment to quality and control in a fast paced delivery environment
    • Digital mindset with a passion for data analytics and reporting
    • Knowledge of relevant reporting and analytical tools (eg. HFM) with enthusiasm to embrace new tools and ways of working
    • Experience in producing exhibits using financial data
    • Experience of Oracle, HFM, Hyperion, Wdesk, Alteryx
