    Position Description

    An entry-level Quality Assurance Assistant position has arisen for an enthusiastic, quality/detail driven individual to join the Quality Assurance department at QIAGEN Manchester. The successful applicant will join the Instrumentation QA team responsible for assuring the quality of QIAGEN's instrument portfolio from design through to lifecycle management.

    These are vital roles, working with multifunctional and sometimes cross-site teams. The successful applicant will join a friendly team in the Instrumentation QA team, with responsibilities both to the activities of the QIAGEN Manchester site as well as to the larger global organisation.

    The primary role will involve supporting other members of the Instrumentation QA team in day to day operations, while learning QIAGEN QA processes including but not limited to; complaint handling, QA investigations and data analysis. Once the successful candidate has gained suitable experience and training, there will be some opportunities to be involved in stand-alone projects and tasks.

    We are ideally looking for individuals with a background in molecular biology - although we will consider applications from others who have a demonstrable quality mindset and an enquiring mind with an enthusiasm to learn. This is an entry-level role – previous experience is not required as full training is available.

    Essential

    • BSc/ BA in a relevant area or HNC/ A-levels with minimum 6 months’ work experience
    • Interest in data analysis
    • Skills in MS Office packages (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals as part of a multifunctional team

    Desirable

    • Employment experience within a process flow environment for example within Quality Control
    • Advanced Excel skills (macros, data analysis etc)
    • Experience of report writing and using SalesForce.com
