    Role Profile

    Our graduate programme is up to 2 years long and allows for flexible placements across the business.

    Due to our size and diversity, we can offer you a structured yet challenging development programme where you’ll receive coaching and mentoring from experienced managers throughout our business. You’ll need to exercise commercial awareness, analytical and interpersonal skills in your day-to day work.

    As a successful candidate, on arrival into the business you will initially join one of our two UK sectors; UK Defence or UK Intelligence. Your initial placement will enable you to support critical business activities. Here you will develop your commercial knowledge whilst building an understanding of how we run our business, the products and services we offer and our customer community.

    Next, you’ll be supported and encouraged to identify development areas which interest you, with the ability to deploy anywhere across our business for further periods. Over time, you’ll build the confidence and credibility to present to senior stakeholders and manage a variation of commercial matters on real projects.

    What you’ll gain

    Joining QinetiQ, you will have the opportunity to work on complex commercial contracts and procurements with a variety of customers from Government Agencies to commercial and corporate organisations and banking institutions.

    You will obtain skills such as:

    • Understanding the basis of commercial contracts, legal agreements, and how and when to apply and use them
    • working as part of a team to address and to solve complex problems
    • Shape commercial deals that meet customer requirements and providing competitive advantage whilst delivering outcomes
    • Learning to build and manage personal and business relationships inside and outside of QinetiQ that will support you throughout your professional career
    • Understand the challenges in other business functions, such as Finance and Engineering, and learn how to interface with those stakeholders as part of a broader team

    Specifically, you’ll need

    • a 2:1 (or to be predicted) or above
    • Our commercial team come with a wide range of academic backgrounds. A degree in a business or a legal related subject will be seen as beneficial, however our scheme is open as long as you can demonstrate how your chosen academic study applies to or has prepared you for this role.’
    • You must have graduated no earlier than 2021 OR will graduate no later than 2024

    Mandatory

    In accordance with our National Security Vetting requirements, all applicants must also be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
