Space UK
QinetiQ’s UK Space business has a long history in supporting space exploration. We have developed communications systems for multiple missions, including Beagle-2, Mars Express, Schiaparelli and the Rosalind Franklin Rover.
We are currently developing a new range of products including the Lunar Link Transponder payload for the upcoming Lunar Pathfinder mission.
What will I be doing?
- The primary scope is to support the space team in the design, manufacture and test of a range of products for space use, primarily in the communications domain.
- You will undertake a variety of tasks, ensuring technical solutions meet business and customer requirements.
- Example tasks include requirements definition and management, architectural design, component identification and selection, detailed design and analysis and hardware testing.
Academic requirements
You will need to be working towards a degree with a key focus on one or more of the disciplines listed below:
- Electronic / Electrical Engineering
- Firmware development
- Communications
- Space Systems Engineering
About you
- Have a strong interest and/or experience within electronic and systems design for space-based products
- Please be aware that many roles within QinetiQ will be subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and your place of birth may limit those roles you can perform for the organisation
