Simulation and Synthetic Environment technologies underpin a wide range of customer needs, including training and education, test and evaluation, and experimentation. We provide solutions for our customers by understanding their needs and creating and defining systems, techniques and processes based on innovative technologies, emerging techniques and / or traditional methods.
What will I be doing
As a graduate in the SE & Sim team, you will learn how to use a range of simulation technologies and synthetic environment toolsets, alongside supporting technologies. You will undertake a variety of tasks, ensuring technical solutions meet business and customer requirements. Depending on the project work we have at the time, this could include:
- Running and configuring 1st person simulations (“serious games”) and computer generated forces to meet a specific requirement
- Creating bespoke features using scripting and modelling techniques
- Supporting development of sensor models using MATLAB or C++
- Integrating a variety of hardware and software through networking and other interfacing techniques
- Researching emerging technologies and their applicability to training and simulation use cases
- Contributing to system documentation, project team meetings and customer reporting activities
Academic requirements
You will need to have obtained a degree with a key focus on any of the disciplines listed below:
- Engineering – e.g. General Engineering, Systems Engineering
- Computer Science or related degree
- Maths
- Physics
Additional requirements
- Have a strong interest and/or experience with a variety of computer-based technologies
- Demonstrate an ability to solve problems and trouble-shoot (with and without using reference materials)
- Independent and proactive, able to explore, identify and communicate effective solutions to a range of stakeholders
- Passionate about developing your skills and abilities so as to increase your responsibilities within the team
