The role
We are recruiting for Graduate Assistants, who will work in department areas and with other key staff across the Collegiate to teach/coach and support students in small groups throughout their time at QE.
Successful candidates will also be passionate and motivated about the wider enrichment needs of students and have an ability and desire to build strong student relationships and outcomes academically and student engagement within wider enrichment areas, such as Sport, Performing and Creative Arts.
The successful applicants will also be able to apply for teacher degree apprenticeships in the following areas, following a successful 12 month period:
- Primary (Aged 3-7)
- Primary (Aged 5-11)
- Primary SEND
- Secondary; Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French Spanish, Geography, Computing

Duties and responsibilities
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Plan, deliver and assist with all types of lessons and activities throughout the year for students of all ages and abilities.
- Deliver high quality sport practices (or other activities or clubs relevant to subject area of expertise) before school, during lunchtimes, after school (midweek and weekends and in school holidays).
- Lead enrichment activities for the students across our student body in conjunction with department Super-curricular coordinators and the QE Activities Team.
- Support with the completion of all documentation related to fixtures and events and activities via EVOLVE
- Support with ensuring all visitors attending fixtures and events and follow appropriate protocols.
- Work with the catering department to ensure the provision of refreshments to visitors to campus.
- Promote professional standards of punctuality, discipline with all students, taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Assist the Head of Department. Curriculum Leaders, Super-Curricular coordinators with administrative and other tasks as required.
- Ensure care is taken of equipment and facilities and that areas are left tidy and in good condition.
- Accompany various school trips and attend events. These may take place outside term-time and at weekends.
Appointed candidates will have
- Suitable degree qualification.
- Coaching qualifications are an advantage.
- Up to date specialist knowledge and skills in subject area
- Experience of working with/teaching young people up to the age of 18.
- Motivation to work with children of all ages and to develop a positive rapport.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and effectively with other staff, students and all visitors.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, Child Protection and Safeguarding of children and young people.
- Close attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
- A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
- Ability to be innovative, creative and work flexibly.
- Ability to manage own time effectively.
