    The Role 

    We are currently looking for an industrial placement student to join us in 2023 as an IT Support Analyst. In this placement, you will assist the IT Operations team in the delivery of IT service and support across the Radius group.

    This position will run from spring/summer 2023 to summer/autumn 2024, and will be based from our group head office in Crewe, Cheshire.

    This is a great opportunity to gain commercial experience of a wide variety of technologies and IT situations. As an IT Support Analyst, you will be at the front-line. You will get to deal directly with customers who have IT issues and requests, and work closely with Service Desk, Field Operations and Infrastructure teams to resolve support requests quickly and efficiently.

    In order to deliver a high-quality service to the business, the Service Desk operates between the hours of 07:30 and 17:30. You will therefore need to work with other members of the team to cover these hours on a rota basis (37.5 hours per week).

    What would your day to day look like?

    Typical Work Activities 

    • Responding to and logging people’s requests and faults submitted by telephone, email and the IT Service Desk self-service logging tool.
    • Prioritising support calls and allocating them to the relevant technical support team/s.
    • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults.
    • Ensuring that all support faults and requests received into the IT Service Desk are answered and responded to within agreed timelines.
    • Keeping internal customers informed of any IT related issues that might impact their teams.

    Key Tasks 

    • Logging customer faults and requests.
    • Diagnosing and resolving hardware/software faults.
    • Analysing call logs to spot trends and underlying issues.
    • Providing 1st line technical support over core technologies as required.

    • Experience of providing excellent customer service and/or administrative excellence in an IT or business environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate well in both technical and non-technical terms.
    • Eager to learn and passionate about IT support with the desire to succeed in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
    • Passionate about customer service.
    • Positive, flexible attitude to work.
