We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Acoustic Consultant, or Experienced Graduate Acoustic Consultant to join our growing team in London. You will be working on projects across Buildings, Environment and Transportation sectors in the UK and further a-field. Our London team is currently supporting projects such as the expansion of Crystal Palace Football Stadium and a number of large Net Zero office developments in the capital as well as projects across the UK. Based in London, you will be supported by a motivated and capable team of acousticians located locally and around the UK.
To succeed in this role, you must have some relevant experience in acoustic consultancy either as part of an industrial placement year or post-graduate. You must also be diligent, and a team player able to support our extensive and interesting portfolio of work. Flexibility will also be required to attend site work.

You will join our Acoustics department
You will be part of our award-winning dynamic UK team of 13 people. The team is part of a thriving specialist international group of over 100 acousticians in over 12 countries. In the UK, the team operates across 4 offices (Cambridge, London, Birmingham and Manchester) and wins a third of its work from external clients and the balance in collaboration with our own environmental, transport and building engineers. We deliver a wide variety of environmental and buildings projects including new schools and hospitals and sustainable places for people to live and work, a growing portfolio of Data Centres, large scale masterplan residential-lead masterplan developments, and high-profile sporting venues in various parts of the UK. We are supporting projects throughout the UK and globally, and in previous years our acousticians have worked as far a-field as the Falkland Islands. Our team is highly experienced, engaged, motivated and committed to delivering excellence to our clients in all areas of noise and vibration design. Our pipeline is diverse, robust and most importantly, resilient. Ramboll is a full and active member of the Association of Noise Consultants.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Undertaking baseline environmental noise and vibration surveys
- Contributing to technical reports ranging from Acoustic Engineering Reports to Environmental Statements and supporting technical appendices
- Technical assessment and acoustic modelling (CADNA/A, Ease, Odeon)
- Effectively managing own workload
- Effective consultation and communication of acoustic design to non-specialists and local planning authorities
- Support with site inspections on Building projects and building acoustic testing (sound insulation, reverberation, STIPA)
- Liaison and team-working with Ramboll Environment and Health and Buildings teams

- Acoustic related Degree, IOA Diploma or Masters’ Degree
- Full driving license
- Some relevant experience in acoustic consultancy
- Desire to or already working towards CEng
- Associate Member of Institute of Acoustics (working towards MIOA)
- Experience with CADNA/A software
- Experience in the use of ArcGIS (or similar) would be beneficial
