The Role
Ramboll is looking for a passionate, creative and enthusiastic intern to join our District Energy team in Bristol for a 9-12 months’ full-time placement. To succeed in this role, you must be studying towards a relevant Engineering Degree and looking to pursue a career in Energy.
You will join our District Energy Department
As our new Intern, you will be part of a dynamic and growing team, learning about energy systems and how we can aid decarbonisation and deliver sustainable projects in practise. Our UK team sits within the Ramboll’s Global Energy business and comprises 30plus engineers and consultants based across the UK.
Our team’s market focus is the UK district heating and district cooling sector. The UK’s District Heating sector is projected to grow significantly in response to national targets to decarbonise heat generation. Ramboll plays a key role in helping drive this in the UK, as well as being worldwide thought leaders in this field.
We also work on international district heating and district cooling projects in collaboration with our colleagues in Denmark and North America. We offer hands on experience and involve you in exciting projects from day one. You will also be given a mentor for your placement who will train, monitor and feedback on your performance throughout your work, plus assist in any requirements related to your degree year in industry.
Your Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist the team with identifying engineering design solutions to our client’s problems
- Carry out engineering calculation and technical analysis
- Create engineering drawings and sketches, working with the team to communicate our solutions effectively
- Contribute in technical reports
- Contribute to Ramboll culture and values, participating in team and company socials
For this role, we believe your starting point is:
- Be currently studying for a degree in Engineering ideally Mechanical, Chemical, Process or Building Services, but we also encourage people from other STEM disciplines to apply
- Have completed at least 1st year of university
- Have an interest in district energy engineering and addressing climate change
- Available to work full time for a minimum of 9 months up to 1 year
- Able to work from the Bristol office 1-2 days per week. Apologies but we do not offer relocation expenses for this job.
