    As our new Graduate Compliance, Strategy and Transactions Consultant you will be part of a recognized global leader in the development and provision of environmental and sustainability consultancy services, supporting clients in developing strategies and achieving their objectives whilst improving sustainability performance and reducing risks.     Your key tasks and responsibilities will be

    • Supporting dynamic and varied mergers and acquisitions due diligence assessments by reviewing and analysing target company information, often in a digital data room, and developing clarification questions and ultimately reaching conclusions on the target’s ESG performance, risks and opportunities
    • Undertaking desktop due diligence assessments including reviewing historical maps and publicly available data to understand potential ESG and environmental liabilities and risks
    • Visiting target assets and facilities to review “on the ground” conditions and identify potential ESG and environmental risks at a range of facilities, often including interesting and complex industrial manufacturing plants
    • Preparing full or partial reports summarising our due diligence findings
    • Developing ESG strategies and preparing ESG and sustainability reports for our Clients’ stakeholders and to meet their legal and voluntary reporting commitments
    • Participating in environmental and health and safety compliance assessments of our Clients’ facilities to help them manage risk and improve their performance and impact
    • Supporting the preparation of environmental permit applications, typically for large industrial and commercial facilities, to help our Clients obtain the permits needed to operate their facilities in a sustainable manner and mitigate their environmental impact
    • Supporting the preparation of net zero strategies, energy efficiency assessments and carbon emissions assessments as part of our net zero team
    • Undertaking sustainability assessments in support of national and international infrastructure and large project environmental impact assessments, e.g. HS2, National Highways and the British Antarctic Survey
    • Supporting portfolio sustainability reviews using advanced remote sensing technologies

    • Degree in a relevant sustainability, environmental or science discipline
    • Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred
    • Full clean driving licence
    • Experience with IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Numerically competent
    • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
    • Competent and efficient report writing skill

    Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: an eye for detail, being able to accurately measure, record and input data, and prepare excellent written reports. Well organised, with the ability/initiative to prioritise and organise work activities. Strong team member, communicating effectively across different teams within the business.
