About this opportunity

As our new Graduate Engineer you will be part of an expanding and dynamic team. We actively seek a rich portfolio of work that makes a difference to those who experience it. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be

  • Assist in the design and analysis of façade systems (i.e., curtain walling, cladding, architectural precast, GRFC, brick masonry, glazing system, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of façade technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for projects, adhering to best practices and quality standards.
  • Carry out calculation and simulations such as structural, thermal, acoustic, etc. to evaluate and inform the façade design ensure the integrity and functionality.
  • Assist and contribute to the digital tool development projects within the team.
  • Assist in research on advancements in facade technology, materials, and construction methods, and support the integration of these technologies into project workflows.
  • Assist in communication with clients, and stakeholders to convey technical information, address concerns, and facilitate project progress.
  • Assist in technical audits, tender reviews, and due diligence reviews.
  • Attend site inspections, and Support off-site and on-site testing activities to verify compliance with design specifications and identify potential issues during construction.
  • Accountability for task delivery, quality, and profitability.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as training programs, seminars, and industry conferences, to enhance skills and knowledge in facade engineering.
  • Assist in maintaining the high-quality façade service offering.

Your skills and experience

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Degree qualified in either Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or other transferable manufacturing/engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup), structural analysis softwares (i.e., Autodesk Robot, Strand7 and ANSYS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, standard and guidance documents governing façade design and construction (e.g., EN BS, ASTM, CWCT, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex engineering challenges and propose effective solutions.
