Rapid7 is seeking talented students to join our UX Engineering team The UX Engineering team helps everyday-users easily understand complex problems, enabling and supporting them to solve these issues efficiently and enjoyably.
What you will do
As a UX Engineer intern at Rapid7 you will:
- Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes and proof-of-concepts using the latest in front-end technologies
- Work with user experience designers, visual designers, design researchers and other engineers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts and assist with final implementation
- Work alongside front-end engineers to set and maintain UI coding standards, maintain our shared component repository and be the keeper of UI components used across our product portfolio
- Communicate clearly about the code you write as well be an advocate for your own opinions
- Advocate for UX Engineering in your interactions with other designers, engineers and product professionals
- Make an impact as you work with a diverse and cohesive team
About you
Successful candidates will be:
- Currently enrolled in a BS or MS degree related to UX engineering such as Interaction design, web design and front end development
- Displaying a strong academic record and seeking a 12 month placement opportunity
- Familiar with HTML, CSS (SASS especially), Object Oriented JavaScript and modern JavaScript, TypeScript libraries (e.g., React, Node.js, Angular.js)
- Displays strong communication skills both within the team and cross functionally
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Have a keen interest in design systems
- Passionate about user-centered design, coding standards, componentization and code reuse
- Driven to explore new technologies and to be instrumental in bringing them to life here at Rapid7

- We are a hybrid working model at Rapid7 however, we encourage our students to be in the office as much as possible to help their development and building their network. Every team varies on working hours/model but you will be able to discuss this with your manager.
