As a Junior QA you will be provided crucial exposure to the gaming industry to kickstart your career in quality assurance. This role offers you exciting opportunities involving the execution of test cases, identifying and documenting bugs, and gaining valuable industry knowledge.
Working closely with the QA team, this role offers hands-on experience in quality assurance within the gaming industry and the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals. It is expected that you will be passionate and driven, and have a strong interest in video games and want to develop through QA.
Key responsibilities
- With support from team members and leads, learn and adhere to QA methodologies, tools, and best practices under the guidance.
- Executing test cases and test plans across multiple platforms and devices, including PC, Mac and mobile, to identify bugs, defects, and performance issues.
- Assist in test plan creation, join feedback sessions and sprint planning to develop knowledge and understanding of game projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and gaming, and share knowledge and insights with the team.
- Receive work instructions and follow this through to develop a broader understanding across projects.
- Perform regressing testing to ensure fixes are verified in an efficient and effective manner.
- Document and track bugs and defects using bug tracking tools such as Jira or Unity, and communicate issues effectively to the development team.
- Collaborate closely with QA team members, developers, and designers to troubleshoot and resolve issues and develop yourself through collaborative means.
Education, training and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or related field preferred, or a minimum of 1 years experience within game development or related experience (to be demonstrated).
- Strong passion for gaming and understanding of gaming mechanics and terminology.
- Demonstrate excellent written and communication skills (English).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with industry tools such as Jira or Unity.
