An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate to join our busy Development Management department within the Planning Service. The role would ideally suit someone who is keen to progress a career in town planning but who may not yet have the relevant experience to obtain membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Based in the newly refurbished Town Hall offices in Reigate, but with extensive opportunities for home working, you would be part of a friendly and supportive team which operates paperless working and handles around 2,500 planning and related applications received each year. You can expect to handle a caseload of householder and minor planning applications as well as provide pre-application and general advice to customers. As your confidence and experience develops so will the diversity of you work to also include written appeals and enforcement matters.

The role would be suited to a recent graduate, preferably in a spatial discipline, with the ability to interpret plans and an interest in the built and natural environment. Ideally you would have gained some experience in planning already but training and support will be available. Given the busy nature of the department the ideal candidate will be good at working to deadlines, on their own and as part of a team.
