    We are looking for a talented Inbound Operations Assistant to join our Logistics team and support smooth inbound operations by facilitating movement of goods from suppliers across different geographic regions to Reiss's UK and US DCs, maintaining a focus on consolidation to improve shipping efficiencies.

    This is a 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover).

    Who you are

    • Experience of working in a logistics/shipping role is highly desirable but not essential
    • Sound computer skills including confident working knowledge of excel and outlook
    • Previous knowledge of freight forwarder systems would be an advantage
    • Ability to work on own initiative but also as a team player
    • High standard of communication, both verbal and oral
    • Speedy appraisal and analysis so that timely decisions can be made
    • Good planning and analytical skills
    • Escalates for resolution appropriately
    • Actively identifies continuous improvement opportunities

    What you’ll be doing

    • Approval of shipments and use of freight forwarder system within agreed timelines
    • Check and amend PLM systems with appropriate updates
    • Ensure all relevant paperwork and documentation is complete pre arrival
    • Appropriate escalation of missing production samples impacting ex-factory dates
    • Proactively ensure goods are leaving on time for group launch
    • Execute inbound forecast in accordance with recommendations made
    • Use forecast as guidance for incoming volumes when approving shipments
    • Escalating slippages in supplier compliance appropriately
    • Monitor container utilisation against targets
    • Make informed decisions regarding approval of underutilized containers versus target
    • Facilitate new route requests
    • Provide recommendations for freight method changes i.e. sea to air
    • Coordinate ad hoc quotes using freight calculator
