    What you will be doing

    Business Area

    The Projects area is a function to allow specific business areas to manage business projects, collecting costs and time together with defined deliverable, scheduling and milestones. It links to several other business process areas including accounts payable and receivables, financial reporting, contracts and orders, fulfillment and procurement as well as resourcing and time recording. Covering project controls including project planning, budgeting and forecasting, plus project costing standardising, streamlining and controlling all project costs, and also cost recording, from procurement, financials, time and labour or external systems.

    This area is new to Ricoh as a defined business area with associated solutions from an enterprise viewpoint, with standardised processes and applications.

    Purpose

    The Functional Consultant supports the Solutions Design Manager in delivering improvements from an application perspective to support business requirements in the assigned business area.

    The Functional Consultant is a hybrid role of functional and technical skills, and will assist in expanding and refining system requirements, designing and implementation of system changes to support process improvements, and analysing and implications to support key decisions and recommendations to executive management on current and future business area processes and policies.

    As a technical and functional Subject Matter Expert in the business area within REU (including Operating Companies, Shared Service Centres, Ricoh Capital and REU Group), provides insights and recommendations to support best practice and continuous improvement into the heart of the processes and applications, ensuring both the current and future needs with Ricoh Family Group are met, enabling continuous process improvement, and process and financial compliance and adoption.

    The Functional Consultant is highly process and system driven, with change management knowledge, and possesses strong implementation / deployment and migration experience and business analysis skills from working in complex IT environments especially Oracle Cloud with emphasis on the financial outputs and implications of managing and controlling customer and contract based projects

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Solutions Design Manager in any system and application requirements and developments to support the relevant business leads potentially up to VP/ Divisional Head levels plus their teams, to drive harmonisation and standardisation of processes throughout REU.
    • Support continuous evolution of new Ricoh business offerings through finance solution and process adaptions 
    • Support implementation of process or application changes to ensure that the European business strategy is realised through optimal end-to-end processes.
    • Utilises process, functional and technical expertise and knowledge to undertake gap reviews, process reviews, data conversion and cleansing as appropriate to the projects allocated.
    • With the highest attention to detail, supports testing and implementing application changes to achieve gathered business realisations 
    • Promotes knowledge transfer to and across the Ricoh businesses and monitors their progression to ensure the Ricoh Family readily adopts and benefits from process developments.
    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyse information and business requirements to help design and shape functional solutions
    • Interprets business requirements into functional and technical solutions and designs to promote process efficiency, cost reduction or potential revenue generation to support financial benefit to Ricoh EMEA

    You will ideally have

    Knowledge

    • Demonstrated project management capability, including use of project management methodologies and approaches
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of finance business applications in Oracle technologies
    • Awareness of Lean Six Sigma methodology
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of SDLC in a multi-application development and deployment business environment

    Education

    Educated to degree level standard (or equivalent) preferred, or relevant business experience

    Skills & Knowledge required

    • Operational understanding of Ricoh business area (or equivalent) from an Operating Company and/or Shared Service Centre and/or Ricoh Capital viewpoint, its processes, systems and their application and risks associated with change
    • System and Functional design: ability to interpret business requirements and high level solution designs into detailed designs for technical development and/or configuration.
    • Good communicator and influencer: excellent interpersonal communication skills, essential to achieve business objectives with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Financial qualification or practical system financial project management experience/knowledge
    • Ability to communicate concisely, clearly and effectively across functions and cultures
    • Fluent in English both verbal and written. A second European language (French, Spanish or German) is useful but not essential.
    • Personal competences: high attention to details, ability to work independently, a can-do-attitude. Some travel is required.

    Professional Experience

    • Experience within the relevant operational business area, with knowledge of processes and workflows
    • System and technical expert in Oracle Cloud and associated business area for those elements which support the Ricoh end-to-end business processes
    • Experienced in implementing and designing processes within Oracle Cloud or equivalent together with integration to other business processes and / or applications
    • Focused to deliver – demonstrates determination, purpose and resourcefulness to deliver the best results for the organisation.
    • Analytical skills: demonstrates the ability to analyse and understand data and information quickly. Uses information, insights and knowledge in a structured way to recommend options backed by logic including benefits for Ricoh Europe
    • Highly Credible – builds and delivers professionalism through combining commercial and operational expertise to bring high value to the organisation and stakeholders
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications; ability to work collaboratively including social media tools and maintaining current materials on information platforms.
