Due to our continuing success and growth, we have an opportunity for a talented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our cost management team.
Working in this role, you will be involved in a variety of projects including residential, commercial, education, industrial, hotel, and leisure among others as part of our developing and specialist team providing all cost management services within our multi-disciplinary environment.
As part of your career development, you will be supported by Ridge to becoming a chartered Quantity Surveyor.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
- Preparation of order of cost estimates and cost plans
- Providing professional advice on all costs involved in building projects
- Providing professional advice on implications of different construction methods, materials, etc
- Evaluation of proposal options with advice and recommendation on the most efficient solution
- Providing professional advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which the building will be constructed.
- Managing the procurement and tendering process to select the best contractor for the project
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects on site including valuations of work completed, assessments of variations and the preparation of final accounts
Skills and experience
- An RICS accredited QS degree or evidence that you are working towards this
- Foundation level experience / knowledge of the building and construction industry
- You will be expected to demonstrate your desire to becoming a chartered Quantity Surveyor
