    About the project

    This role is an integral part of the process and progress on the expansion of our Social Value team in the UK. You will join a team which is driven by a deep commitment to addressing health inequalities and making healthcare more accessible to people in the UK. We will use all of our expertise to discover solutions that best serve the needs of patients and customers while also delivering social value initiatives that positively contribute to local communities beyond our core business.

    • Develop and implement a social value strategy that enhances Roche's reputation as a leader in sustainability, and makes a positive impact on the communities we serve.
    • Align with Roche's corporate goals and strategic priorities, including reducing our environmental impact and fighting climate change.
    • Address health inequalities and make healthcare more accessible to more people in the UK by using our expertise to discover solutions that best serve the needs of patients in the community.
    • Deliver social value initiatives that go above and beyond our core business deliverables, positively contributing to local communities across the UK.
    • Review and improve our packaging, product delivery, plastic recycling, waste reduction, and travel practices to create a more sustainable future.
    • Being at the forefront of the Roche Social Value journey helping to shape the ways it is becoming embedded within the NHS in the UK and HSE in Ireland.

    As part of this wider project you will

    • Work collaboratively with the Social Value Lead and the rest of the Social Value team to develop and implement impactful programmes and initiatives that positively impact communities and organisations. You will be integral to the team helping us create and deliver Social Value by engaging with internal teams, clients, and supply chain to deliver project-specific social value plans.
    • Maintain a comprehensive overview of our social value activities by recording and monitoring our progress using internal databases and systems, maintaining a social value activities tracker, and producing outcome-based reports and case studies. You will conduct research and local needs analysis to inform our Social Value offering within bids and proposals, ensuring that our approach is tailored to the needs of local communities.
    • Support and participate in social value activities in different settings, such as schools and community organisations, as part of our commitment to creating a positive impact on society. You will also assist the Social Value Lead and Head of the Communications team with internal and external marketing and communications programmes, and support regional teams with Social Value questions within bids and client proposals. As part of this bigger project, you will be a key player in ensuring that we deliver on our commitment to creating sustainable, positive change.

    Who you are

    • You are a bachelor's, master's, or MBA student with a focus in the fields of public health, environmental studies, social work, or sustainability and social responsibility.
    • Passionate about Social Value principles and values, with a deep empathy for social challenges and an understanding of Social Value legislation and best practices.
    • Organised, efficient, and detail-oriented, with experience in event planning, bid writing, and recording and measuring outcomes from social value activities.
    • Excellent IT literacy and familiarity with social value calculators such as the National Themes, Outcomes and Measures framework ( TOMS), with place-based experience in social value from within Built Environment/Local Authority/community organisation or non-profit sector.
    • Curious, solution-seeking mindset with a natural communication style and ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
    • A skilled storyteller with experience writing case studies and bid responses.
