We’re looking for recent graduates to join our Defence Future Programmes and help develop products that will solve the challenges of tomorrow. Working with industry partners in the UK and beyond, you’ll develop a vast range of skills and open the doors to an exciting career.
Why Rolls-Royce?
It’s not every engineer that gets to say they’re shaping the future. Here in Rolls-Royce Defence, we are doing exactly that. Whether we’re developing sustainable next generation defence technologies for air, sea, land or space, we’re working to find solutions to tomorrow’s problems, today.
Rolls-Royce Defence serves 160 armed forces worldwide, providing mission-critical power and support solutions for air forces, naval and submarine fleets. And our customers expect us to do more than deliver world-class engineering. They need us to contribute to the challenges our world faces. Join us and you’ll help create sustainable products and services for those we protect.
In return, we’ll provide an environment where you can be yourself. An inclusive, digital-first culture that invests in you, gives you a platform for continuous learning, and access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career.
Along with a competitive salary and exceptional benefits, this permanent role enables you to learn fast and focus on developing the skills you need to become the engineering expert you aspire to be.
What you will be doing
Depending on the role, you could be involved in delivering systems and components for future defence applications or supporting the development and demonstration of our world leading capabilities. To create next generation technologies, we need world-class processes, tools, and ways of working. If this is the area that interests you, there are opportunities to do this too.
Day to day, you’ll work on site within our growing team, solving complex problems and connecting with customers and suppliers. And because these are Graduate Direct roles, you’ll go straight into a permanent position and immediately contribute to the success of our business.
Who we’re looking for
At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- a degree in a STEM subject
- some experience working within a team
- an open-minded, curious, collaborative and creative approach to problem solving
- a love of learning and applying new perspectives to your work
- initiative, adaptability and drive to build your desired career, with support from those around you
To work for our Defence Business, you’ll also need to have UK government Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and in some cases hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats. Rolls-Royce will support your application for Security Clearance if its required and you don’t already have it. Due to the nature of our work, you’ll also need to be a UK national or hold suitable nationality with an unlimited right to work in the UK.
We are an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives. And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we’ll be. By building a culture of respect and appreciation, we give everyone who works here the opportunity to realise their full potential.
