Join us for a 10-week summer internship, and you'll find yourself at the heart of the action, working on exciting projects with our experts - real work with real impact. You’ll be welcomed into a friendly, inclusive culture that believes in plenty of opportunities and learning, no matter what level you’re at.

You’ll get a great insight into the breadth of the work we do to pioneer our planet’s vital power needs. We believe in the transforming potential of technology to protect our planet, secure our world, and explore our universe. You’ll help us deliver our vision of a net zero carbon future for us all.

What you’ll do on the programme

We’re one of few organisations on the planet with the scope of technology and the breadth of expertise to tackle the biggest challenges around. And on a 10-week internship with us, you'll get the chance to experience that first-hand.

You'll be aligned to one of our business areas, Civil Aerospace, Defence, Electrical or Submarines and get the chance to work in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, or service support and more. You could see the progress we’re making on nuclear powered space travel, all-electric air taxis, or find yourself using data, technology, and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment.

Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you’ll build a wealth of new skills with the help of industry experts. People who are as invested in your success as you are.

What you’ll need to be successful

Any STEM degree, with subjects directly related to our work – or a joint honours degree that combines a STEM subject with another like business or economics. You must be flexible about where you work and be open to travelling between locations if required.

You’ll also need to be as passionate as we are about the world of technology. You’ll need to believe in the future of sustainable power, and its potential to change lives for the better. You’ll need to be open-minded, curious, collaborative, and agile in your approach to solving problems.

This is your chance to gain a fantastic insight into a leading, global business. But it’s up to you to make the most of it. If you do well, you could be offered a place on our graduate programme.
