The Asset Survey & Inspection team at RPS are seeking a Trainee USL Inspector for the Welsh Water contract to be based in South Wales.

About the role

With the support of our experience USL Inspector team, you will learn how to survey Trunk Main (TM) District Metered Areas(DMA's) to a high standard. Develop an understanding of flow and pressure management. Learn how to distribute and collate information from Data Loggers and how to produce detailed reports.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop an understanding of Risk Assessment and Health & Safety Management
  • Develop a good knowledge of leakage detection and distribution networks
  • Develop an understanding of GIS and DMA
  • Take part in role specific training courses -First Aid, Confined Space Training
  • Learn how to Survey and walk TM mains
  • Develop a good understanding of utility tracing
  • Work towards KPI's and Targets
  • Learn how to create detailed reports

Who we’re looking for

  • Willingness to learn
  • A strong Customer Service ethos
  • Computer literacy on Microsoft 360 Suite and Work Management Systems and applications.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets.
  • Clear and fluent communication skills, both written and oral
  • A working knowledge of working within Utilities and Water Distribution is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of trunk-main distribution and leakage is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work across all South Wales
  • Full UK driving license
