    Ecologia part of the RSK Group have a new exciting opportunity for a Graduate or Assistant Business Support & SHEQ Coordinator to join their team based in Sittingbourne, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

    The role

    The role will involve a combination of Business Support and Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality aspects, such as but not limited to: premises, site-based and office / operations support (including yard and workshop activities).

    There is also opportunity to further support business across our Pod of UK Companies in terms of Business & SHEQ support under guidance of line manager.

    Candidates may need to work away from home subject to business and project's needs, with travel throughout the UK, thus a clean full UK driving licence is essential.

    Full training will be given covering the four quadrants of health, safety, environmental and quality and business support / operational elements

    Responsibilities

    • Champion best in class SHEQ standards across the Company and respective management systems, ensuring compliance and provision of advice and guidance in accordance with applicable legislation and industry best practice.
    • SHEQ and Business support including performance monitoring across premises & project operations and continual improvement of arrangements.
    • Assist SHEQ lead in the continual improvement of management systems and subsequent SHEQ arrangements across all operations.
    • Assist SHEQ lead in the delivery and management of Company Sustainability and ESG objectives, inclusive of periodical internal reporting.
    • Assist SHEQ lead in carrying out Company inductions and delivery of in-person and virtual training sessions, toolbox talks etc.
    • Monitoring and assisting audits of both premises and project operations; internal and external certification audits.
    • Conduct site SHE inspections and maintain performance reports against project and business KPIs.
    • Reporting on SHEQ performance for business operations, office and field based, inclusive of upward reporting to Group database.
    • Assisting with the maintenance of supplier management system in terms of supplier reviews, on-boarding, inspections and performance reporting on a periodical basis.
    • Preparation and review of risk assessments and procedures, inclusive of providing project SHEQ support, e.g. risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) reviews.
    • Preparation of reports in relation to performance against objectives and targets, assisting line manager in periodical reporting and KPI management.
    • Assist with the implementation of Divisional and Group SHEQ initiatives across the Company, and Remediation & Response POD of Companies under line manager guidance.
    • Assist with the creation of SHEQ campaigns, lessons learned, bulletins etc inclusive of periodical communications.
    • Provide support to all staff on SHEQ & operational matters under guidance and support from line manager.

    The role may evolve subject to business growth and training and competence progression; reviewed periodically against Professional Development plan

    Qualifications and requirements

    • The role will suit a graduate with or working towards a qualification in health and safety, occupational hygiene, or environmental health. Similar qualifications or experience will be considered.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Self-motivated, with diligence, integrity, and ambition.
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Travel (UK) is expected to visit sites and other offices which may include overnight stays.
    • Strong written and verbal communication is essential to the role.
    • Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Visio. Training in all business systems will be provided.
    • Must hold a full UK drivers' licence.
    • Additional qualifications/memberships in Administration, Environment, Health, Safety and Quality an advantage.
    • Training in all aspects of the role will be provided as necessary for the job role and competence needs.

    • Salary up to £28,000 Dependent on experience
