    What does our Capital Markets team do?

    Our team has decades of experience in supporting companies floating on the AIM or the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and in helping already listed companies with their transactions such as acquisitions or raising further funds.

    Our team is one of the most active reporting accountants in the UK, often advising on the most deals on the AIM market in recent years.

    Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

    • Reviewing the audit files produced by the client’s auditor and supplementing that work to allow RSM to sign off a reporting accountant opinion;
    • Performing financial due diligence and producing unbiased reports to help the client’s advisors and potential investors understand the client and the key drivers of the client’s business;
    • Review and stress test financial models produced by the client and prepare reports on their forecasts;
    • Evaluate the financial control environment of the client to ensure it aligns with that expected of a listed company;
    • Liaising with the client and their other advisors, including their sponsor or nominated advisor, lawyers and brokers;
    • Drafting proposals, letters of engagement and completion letters;
    • Attending pitches, project management meetings with clients and advisors and closing meetings with all parties.

    The Capital Markets team are based in London.

    What can you expect?

    You can expect to be working on live projects from day one as the current market is full of opportunities. You will be getting a balanced experience due to the variety of workstreams a reporting accountant engages in and the fast-paced nature of the industry means you will never be engaged on one project for too long. You will be working with businesses from a broad range of industries and sectors both here in the UK and abroad.

    When you join our Capital Markets team, you’ll work towards the ACA qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), or your Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
