This is an opportunity to join a national IT department in a large, technologically advanced financial service firm. Whether you join us in Software Development, Applications or Infrastructure, you’ll be involved in varied and challenging projects, with the opportunity to collaborate across teams. Not only will you be working with experienced, knowledgeable and approachable colleagues, you will be working with the latest versions of Microsoft technologies.

What does the Software team do?

The Software Team is responsible for developing web applications across the firm. We are made up of 3-4 project teams ranging from developing small, ad-hoc applications to large, enterprise solutions. We encourage fluidity so you will work on a wide variety of different projects that will challenge and stretch you and, ultimately, further your career.

What can you expect?

You’ll have your own mentor and a wealth of knowledge and experience in the team to tap into, including some of our graduates who started here as a placement student too. You’ll also have the latest versions of our tools at your fingertips (including Windows, SQL Server, SharePoint and Visual Studio), as well as a number of courses available to widen your skills.

A talented, proactive and enthusiastic second year student studying for either a computer science degree or with a demonstrable interest in IT, looking to work within small teams in a dynamic, cutting edge department. Technically, you should have a basic knowledge of:

  • C# (or similar e.g. Java)
  • ASP.NET (or equivalent)
  • SQL Server (or any other DBMS)

We also use Agile methodologies to manage our many and varied projects.
