    The EMEA Client Team at Russell Investments is responsible for working with institutional clients and prospects in Northern Europe, UK and Middle East, across a full range of services.

    The Graduate Analyst role will predominantly focus on assisting with the delivery of strategy, investment management and implementation services. Ultimately the position is expected to contribute to client retention and the evolution of the investment management proposition across the EMEA region. The

    Graduate Analyst will be the liaison between the senior members of the EMEA Client Team and various departments in the Investment Division, middle and back office such as operations, legal, product and others.

    The Graduate Analyst will work closely with clients and their representatives to deliver best in class relationship management to a portfolio of institutional clients, the emphasis is both protecting client revenue and expanding each client relationship across a broad range of Russell Investments’ services, including: funds management, fiduciary management and implementation services.

    The Graduate Analyst role is a 12 month FTC to start in March 2024.

    The responsibilities

    Regulatory & Business conduct

    • Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our organisations Code of Conduct.

    • Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance.

    Client Relationship Management

    • Supporting EMEA Client relationships in all aspects of client management including preparation of client presentations, delivery of customised reports, liaison with the investment division, etc.
    • Assisting the team with building a strong working relationship with clients and providing effective and timely responses to clients’ requests.
    • The client base includes UK, Europe and Middle East DB and DC private sector pension schemes, insurance clients and government agencies.
    • Assisting relationship management teams to proactively plan and execute strategies to retain and expand client relationships.

    Sales

    • Being in support of new business opportunities where required.
    • Gathering high level information about clients or the services Russell Investments offer.

    Market Awareness

    • Building an awareness of the Institutional and Retail market and how it’s evolving.  This should include a knowledge of traditional investment management and fiduciary management. 

    Industry knowledge and understanding

    • Developing an awareness of the EMEA market including the various requirements and nuances of the different client bases serviced by the EMEA team.  

    Other

    • Middle office team oversight. Helping supervise all functions outsourced to the middle office team, including client onboarding, audit queries, preparation and distribution of quarterly reports, etc.
    • Providing support for internal project work.
    • Supporting associates in relation to enhancements in processes, systems and client experience.
    • Assisting senior members of the team in new business development efforts if needed.

    About you

    The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

    • University undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/equivalent experience.
    • Developing knowledge of the investment consulting and investment management industry in the UK.
    • Emerging knowledge of the pensions and insurance industry in the UK including a broad understanding of the objectives, operations and regulatory environment.
    • Developing knowledge of the clients in Northern Europe and Middle East.
    • Knowledge of, and interest in the global capital markets and how various stakeholders interact within them.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of all major asset classes.
    • Experience in the financial services industry or similar corporate environment preferred.
    • Excellent communications skills (written and oral, including excellent telephone manner) interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Naturally courteous and professional approach.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good organisational skills and an ability to meet internal and external demands.
    • Ability to work under pressure, both within a team and independently.
    • Acts with urgency and works hard to address client demands.
