Working within our Digital Marketing division, you will sit within the Technology Team and be responsible for maintaining our Digital Marketing tagging and tracking. As a Technology Team our priority is to manage how Digital Marketing tools capture data from our websites and apps including Sainsbury’s Food, Habitat, Tu Clothing, Nectar and Argos.

Alongside this, we take a hands-on approach to advance how Digital Marketing channels use data. Whether through our own ingenuity and connecting business data into our channels, or by working directly with industry leading platforms and agencies. Our role is to build and then maintain capabilities which will improve our approach to acquisition and sales.

We are constantly evolving our approach to deliver best in class digital media and technology solutions as we’re striving towards our ambition of building the UK’s best Digital Marketing team. By joining the Digital Marketing Technology Team, you could become the foundation of our team. We have a strong culture of learning, development, and innovation and we form part of a friendly Marketing department, where you’ll feel part of the team from day one.

    The role

We’re looking for Digital Marketeers with experience. Within the Digital Marketing Technology Team, we work across the entire media mix, therefore in-channel experience of at least one channel is desirable. However, hands-on knowledge of Advertising Operations is key. If you’ve ever implemented a website tag, built a URL tracker, or even trafficked programmatic media, your skillset is what we’re looking for! Overall, we’re looking for someone who is highly data-driven with strong analytical skills and a curious mind, continually challenging results, and the status quo. Being able to build or project manage the creation of industry leading technology solutions should excite you but above all, you are someone with a positive can-do attitude and a continuous drive to deliver success.

    What I need to do

    • Understanding of Tealium and an ability to implement and maintain marketing tags and SDKs.
    • Management of the Advertising Operations process, such as the building of URL trackers and troubleshooting any technical issues to ensure ads are effectively distributed across channels.
    • Support the Analytics teams to debug tracking and measurement issues.
    • Project manage the delivery of new technology solutions or capabilities.
    • Manage our media agency and tech partner’s backlog and workflow, and prioritise their workload.
    • Develop beneficial media partner relationships with market leaders to ensure we are not only adhering to best practices, but setting the standard in how advertising technology is used.
    • Evolve the activation, optimisation, and performance of our paid digital media program by employing an agile, test & learn approach that encourages testing of new technologies and capabilities we buy or build.
    • Work closely with internal IT, Legal & Data Governance teams to define our compliance with privacy regulations like the ePrivacy directive, GDPR, DMA and have a strong understanding of third-party cookie deprecation

    How I will succeed

    • Continuously maintaining and optimising the way our tools track via web tagging and in-app SDKs.
    • Acute attention to detail, delivering industry leading technology projects at pace and with accuracy and enthusiasm.
    • Building cross functional relationships with teams across the business and external stakeholders.
    • Be curious, have a willingness to learn and ability to take initiative.
    • Entrepreneurial and ‘can do’ attitude to help drive change
