    We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the Capital & Returns Management team in Santander’s Corporate and Commercial Bank.

    The role

    The role is in a team responsible for the management of CCB’s capital position, enhancing returns across the business, and executing market-facing solutions designed to better facilitate origination through improved capital efficiency.

    The role will provide the opportunity to gain a broad overview of banking including an in depth understanding of the CCB business, portfolio management and performance measurement as well as complex transaction structuring.

    • Assisting with the portfolio management of CCB’s SRT securitisation transactions and acting as a key deal team member for any new SRTs
    • Supporting adherence to bank capital regulation e.g. CRR, and preparing the CCB portfolio for upcoming regulatory changes including Basel 3.1
    • Contributing to the development and implementation of key capital management initiatives
    • Working on returns enhancement initiatives including the monitoring and improvement of low returning clients
    • Assisting with key workstreams including analysis, committee/forum papers and presentations, stakeholder engagement across a broad range of CCB stakeholders through the team’s activities such as capital, returns, pricing approach, risk methodology, securitisations, and market facing portfolio solutions.

    What you’ll bring

    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to influence relationships at all levels
    • Strong numerical skills

    It would also be nice for you to have: 

    • Demonstrable organisation, planning and time management skills, with effective prioritisation of deadlines
    • An understanding of capital regulations and how these align in the bank
    • An in-depth knowledge of CCB systems, products, and procedures
    • University degree in a quantitative or related discipline
