    An exciting new opportunity has arisen in the IT department for a Business Intelligence Analyst.

    A role in the BI team delivering a self-service Business Intelligence solution that enables the business to improve its reporting and analysis capabilities.

    Reporting to the BI manager, the role requires a self-motivated and highly analytical candidate with strong experience in querying data within databases, as well as experience in delivering/supporting a Power BI implementation would be required. Experience in using SAP Business Objects and SAS is also desirable.

    The role will be internal customer-facing and will cover all aspects of the BI delivery process including the facilitation / clarification of report / data requirements, Data Warehouse modelling and testing, report design and testing, and the ongoing guidance and mentoring of Power Users.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Guiding and owning the delivery of a new Power BI environment
    • Creating data models and reports within Power BI.
    • Providing Power BI expertise, mentoring and best practice to support business users with data modelling and report writing.
    • Participating in BI requirement gathering
    • Analysis of existing reports, and new reporting requirements
    • Documentation of clear requirements to development and testing
    • Production and execution of Test Scripts for BI deliverables
    • Keeping the BI Manager informed of progress and issues on a timely basis
    • Mentoring/support for junior team members
    • Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework

    What we’re looking for

    Technical Competencies

    • Tools - Technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Oracle, SAS.

    • Strong work ethic with attention to detail
    • Proven ability to understand both business and IT processes

    • Coaching and mentoring users throughout the BI development lifecycle and in the use of BI tools is desirable
    • A background in Financial Services would be advantageous is desirable

    Qualifications

    • ITIL Foundation (or equivalent) is desirable
    • Prince II Practitioner (or equivalent) is desirable

    The salary range for this role is £53,000 - £60,000k per annum dependent on experience.
