    In this high-profile role as Senior Secretariat Assistant, you’ll be providing high quality company secretarial support to subsidiary Boards and management committees.

    You’ll be implementing senior management directives in regulatory and statutory compliance and enforcing governance and best practice throughout the Santander UK group. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining high standards, systems and procedures which will be constantly reviewed and improved upon.

    • Supporting Senior Management on Board and Board Committees
    • Collating and circulating Board papers, preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings
    • Contributing to the annual report and financial statements programme
    • Providing specialist advice on new business and legislative developments/projects
    • Identifying statutory, compliance, corporate, governance and prudential control risk implications for Santander’s companies in the UK

    What you will bring.

    • Graduate or Associate membership of the Chartered Governance Institute
    • Practical knowledge of governance, the mechanics of formal meetings and the relationship between committees and the Board

    It would also be nice for you to have.

    • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
    • Experience from working effectively in a busy secretariat function
    • Highly developed stakeholder management skills with experience of direct interaction with senior stakeholders (Chairman/non-Executive Director, Senior Executive level)
    • Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally financial services

    What else you need to know.

    • Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

    • The role is currently located in Triton Square (Euston, London), supporting physical and virtual meetings at that location and Milton Keynes in the future.
