Our collective future depends on decarbonizing the fossil fuel industry, while innovating a new energy landscape. It’s what drives us. Ensuring progress for people and the planet, on the journey to net zero and beyond. For a balanced planet.
Description and Scope
Creation of 2D map visualizations aggregated from 3D subsurface grid properties in a cloud-based application.
We have a need to do backend processing in Golang to take property data on a 3D cellular grid and aggregate values to create a 2D map. Data will be retrieved from REST APIs and new APIs will be created in Golang to present the resulting maps. Performance and scalability will be a factor as the data can be quite large.
Filtering will be done to restrict aggregated data to particular "zones" or "formations" in the subsurface.
Responsibilities
- Addition of backend computation to do the creation of 2D maps
- Creation of microservice APIs
Students would be expected to learn about microservice development, performance optimization, 3D visualization in the cloud, 3D computations, RESTful APIs, Golang
Required Skills & Qualifications
