As an Automation IT Engineer, your mission is to drive the digital transformation of industrial operations by designing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge automation solutions. You will play a key role in showcasing the value of our technologies, integrating advanced control systems, and ensuring secure, efficient, and intelligent manufacturing environments.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop demo applications using our EcoStruxure Machine Expert platform and Schneider Electric’s full industrial catalog. Your expertise will support the deployment of smart factory solutions, from PLC programming and SCADA integration to cybersecurity and continuous improvement initiatives
Key responsibilities
- The creation of demo applications to showcase the value of our solution. You will then use our "Machine Expert" software solution and all products from the Schneider Electric industrial catalog.
- Implementation of digital solutions in shopfloor and leading PLC integration, cybersecurity processes
- Provide technical expertise on advanced automated manufacturing/production processes.
- Programme and troubleshoot PLC systems; conduct root cause analysis on equipment issues.
- Use structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Kaizen) to drive improvements.
Qualifications
Skills and attributes
- Recognised Apprenticeship in Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls Engineering or Minimum HNC or equivalent in an engineering focussed area
- Knowledge of Process Automation, Data Management Systems and Higher-Level Interface Systems
- Good proficiency in programming and testing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Knowledge in SCADA systems, HMI configuration, and information systems
- Knowledge of Industrial Cybersecurity, control network architecture, and communication protocols
- Ability to communicate, work in a team, good interpersonal skills, commitment, curiosity, and listening skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and excellent documentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure with minimal supervision, and meet project timelines
- Knowledge of Lean Production and CI tools (Kaizen, PDCA, 6Sigma,etc.)
