We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our well-established team as a Quantity Surveyor with responsibility for Projects in our South region. This position would be ideal for someone who has recently completed a Qualification / Degree in Quantity Surveying or on a pathway to a Quantity Surveying role, or someone who is interested in a role in the commercial management of projects and is keen to develop in this area.

    In this role the successful candidate will work on our existing projects. The role will involve supporting the local operations and commercial team with all commercial requirements on live project works primarily relating to the BMS (Building Management System) installation.

    Key responsibilities

    • Assist at tender stage to identify commercial risk and how best to manage this.
    • Attend / Prepare on monthly forecast workbooks / sales plans, monthly project reviews and monthly financial reports as required, debt collection.
    • Conduct full review of order documentation to ensure compliance with tender documents. Attend pre-let meetings as required and assist in contract finalisation. Prepare and issue order acknowledgements on projects as required.
    • Assist with preparation of sub-contract orders, sub-contractor payment/payless notices in line with contractual terms. Conduct reviews with sub-contractors to review accounts.
    • Update finance system on a regular basis and ensure the correct financial management of projects.
    • Prepare applications for payment and invoices alongside operations team. Review by senior team prior to submittal to client. Ensure payment notices are received in line with contractual terms and assist with debt collection where required.
    • Ensure all necessary contractual notices are prepared and issued in line with the contract and manage loss and expense and extension of time claims.

    • Excellent IT skills essential
    • Excellent communication and organisation skills essential
    • Fluency in English is a must (written and verbal)

    Education

    • Ideally qualified to degree level in relevant subject area such as Quantity Surveying or in the process of completing a full / part time qualification.
    • Other levels of education alongside relevant work experience will be considered.
