Working across Scottish Enterprise, this role is an opportunity to make a difference with the latest research. You’ll be collecting, collating and sharing data on companies, sectors and industries of interest to the Economic Opportunities directorate.
The role
In this role, you’ll identify emerging and evolving policy and market intelligence by drawing on internal and external sources, as well as partner and stakeholder relationships. Working closely with colleagues, you’ll contribute to strategic planning across the Decarbonisation of Energy and Energy Systems team and wider Scottish Enterprise departments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ongoing collection and collation of market insights and intelligence
- Communicating and sharing insights
- Learning on the job, with support, to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the organisation and its operations
Who were looking for
Your skills, abilities and experience should include:
- Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 9 as a minimum (for example, BA/Ordinary Degree, Graduate Diploma or SVQ at SCQF Level 9) in chemistry, physics or an environmental science
- An interest in decarbonisation
- The organisational skills to plan ahead and meet tight deadlines
- An ability to deliver under pressure as part of a team managing complex projects and relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communications skills – both verbal and written
- An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop
- Strong IT skills, including knowledge of social media
Ideally, but not essentially, you’ll also have:
- An interest in economic development and current affairs
- Experience collecting, collating and disseminating information
