Role Overview
As a Marketing Executive at the SEC, you will play a crucial role in supporting and promoting our events and driving attendance through creative marketing campaigns. Working closely with the Marketing Managers across each of the sectors that we operate within—Live Entertainment, Conferences, and Exhibitions.
This entry-level position within the Marketing Department promises to be challenging yet rewarding, offering exceptional experience in the dynamic field of events marketing. You will contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies across various channels and sectors, supporting and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure the success of each campaign. You will be okay with supporting via administration and getting your sleeves rolled up.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to promote events hosted at the SEC.
- Monitor and review the performance of marketing campaigns to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and event organisers to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and branding.
- Assist in coordinating promotional activities, including competitions, partnerships, and sponsorships.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to enhance marketing strategies and tactics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred but no essential – as a priority, we are looking for the right positive attitude.
- Some experience in marketing, preferably within the events or entertainment industry.
- Understanding of digital marketing channels and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and SEO.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support the creation of compelling content.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Highly organised with strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the Scottish events market and familiarity with Glasgow's cultural landscape is a plus.
