Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.
It’s not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it’s what’s behind every job here.
Our work keeps Scotland’s water flowing, from reservoir to tap – and from sewer to treatment plant. Do your bit by joining our Investment Management crew in Capital Investment as a Data Analyst. We currently have two positions available.
What you’ll do
In the data world:
- You'll ensure our data is always up to date by collaborating with other analysts and SMEs.
- You'll crunch numbers and deliver both regular and one-off insights about the Portfolio's trends and key issues and you'll be responsible for Developing and maintaining the data model for data integration
When it's time to report and present:
- Efficiency is the name of the game. We use a variety of tools like Excel, Power BI, MS Access, and Analytics to produce reports and presentations.
- Your insights will be the key in our reports, explaining what's going on, why it's happening, and what might happen next.
Stakeholder management is just as crucial:
- You'll gather reporting requirements to meet stakeholder needs and create a plan to deliver a top-quality product.
- Everything you produce should meet the high bar our stakeholders set, from reports to presentations and visuals, clear communication is key, whether you're talking or writing
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you should love analysing complex data from different systems, solving tricky problems, and crafting presentations for colleagues all around the company. Strong excel skills are a must, and if you've got some experience with databases, Power BI, or other analytical tools, that's a bonus. Plus, you'll have the freedom to create new tools to improve our team's analytical game.
And heads up, our interview might put your Excel skills to the test.
Looking out for you
While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
You’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
For your future, there’s our pension (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life assurance.
As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
