ScottishPower Renewables is at the forefront of the development of the renewables industry through pioneering ideas, forward thinking and outstanding innovation. We are a world leader in wind energy with over 40 operational windfarm sites producing over 2,500 MW.
Our Commercial functions play a vital role within the renewables industry; monitoring and influencing the Global Energy Market, conducting analysis to identify investment opportunities and ensuring adherence to energy policy. And with environmental changes and political updates ranging from evolutionary to radical, this is a dynamic environment engaged in a wide range of business activities that will accelerate our journey to Net Zero.
What you’ll be doing
As a Commercial Graduate, you’ll develop your existing analysis skills and undertake due diligence to make acquisition and divestment decisions, supporting the enhancement of our organic pipeline of projects which are essential to our ambitious growth plans. Your commercial acumen will be used to ensure that spend within our capital projects for our operational windfarms is controlled, tracked and reported.
You’ll also support the SPR Investment Office, providing financial analysis of Onshore and Offshore Renewable investment opportunities. Presenting an economic business case to local and global executives, your report will allow the Final Investment Decision to be made on a proposed project.
You’ll participate in the Capacity Market in the UK and Ireland, developing your understanding of the market rules, pre-qualifying sites and preparing for auctions. And of course, we want to maximise the competitiveness of our projects to secure a Route to Market, so you’ll need to get to know our competitors intimately. Using this knowledge, you’ll collate market intelligence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify ways to financially optimise our projects in these extremely competitive markets. We’re committed to investing in a greener future and we’d love for you to join us.
