    In partnership with Global IT, our Corporate IT Team is responsible for delivering improved services and innovative technical solutions to the ScottishPower businesses. This is a dynamic, challenging and exciting environment and we want people who’re up for the challenge to join our team.

    On our IT Graduate programme, you will gain a greater understanding of our IT function as well as the utilities sector as a whole. With support from experienced mentors, you’ll gain essential skills and valuable experience, providing you with the tools you need to excel in our global organisation. With placements across the function, you’ll gain insights into multiple facets of IT while focusing on your chosen specialism. And with each placement, you’ll continue to build your network of colleagues and graduates to support your development.

    What you’ll be doing

    Across Corporate IT we have a number of exciting opportunities in the following teams.

    Corporate IT Team

    Our team works closely with all areas of the Corporate business including Human Resources, Health and Safety, Communications, Procurement, Security, General Services, Legal etc with responsibility for evolving the IT systems evolution as set out in our applications roadmap to continue to meet the changing business needs. The Corporate team also support our Corporate businesses with all global Corporate IT deliveries.

    With support from your experienced colleagues, you’ll play a key role in identifying and defining the technical requirements for new solutions helping to drive the digital transformation of the ScottishPower Corporate businesses. Building on your existing knowledge, you’ll play a vital part in supporting design, build, testing and deployment of new functional solutions and you’ll be responsible for the analysis of our corporate business applications to determine the implication of business IT systems and create impact assessments. Providing expertise to the business and monitoring advances of available technology, you’ll ensure that the IT solutions which support our business are optimised. This digitisation of the Corporate functions improves our ability to meet the Net Zero challenge through initiatives such as hybrid working and carbon footprint data gathering. Driving technical innovation across the group is crucial to our Net Zero ambition and your support with the implementation of global solutions in the UK means you’ll be playing your part in the fight against climate change.

    Throughout the programme, you will expand your knowledge of industry leading corporate solutions and architectures. And you’ll gain exposure to Cloud based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions covering all the ScottishPower Corporate functions. If you want to develop your IT technical knowledge and understand the technical considerations of solution implementations then this role is ideal for you. You’ll have excellent communication skills to engage with your colleagues and stakeholders to deliver cutting edge IT solutions to your customers. And as you’ll work closely with our colleagues in Spain, Spanish language skills would be an advantage.

    If you have a degree in Computer Science, IT or similar, and a keen interest in delivering enterprise IT solutions, our Corporate IT Team could be a great fit for you.

    Digital Teams

    Our highly skilled and agile Digital Teams are leading the digital agenda across ScottishPower with the creation of a new Digital Hub. We’ve built four critical capability pillars focused on Web & Mobile Apps, Industry 4.0, Data & Analytics and Agile. We’re also focusing on creation of self service and new communication channels to enhance our Digital provisions. We want to unlock the full potential of digitalisation and maximise the use of data. We need to simultaneously decarbonise our network and increase energy production to meet the growing demand of energy resulting from the electrification of heat and transport. This requires data to provide insight and digital solutions to facilitate the forecasting and subsequent management of our network. From Artificial Intelligence to the Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and the delivery of new Digital Apps, we know that Digital Technology plays a critical role in the delivery of a Net Zero future.

    We’re looking for graduates with an interest in these areas to join our Digital Teams and get involved in delivering some of the most exciting and purpose led digital innovations. Right now, the energy sector is going through the biggest digital transformation of any sector. We’re working with the latest software on the coolest technology to support a transition to a more sustainable future for our customers, communities and stakeholders. With support from our highly experienced team, you’ll work across a variety of our Digital Teams, gaining insights into different IT roles, acquiring extensive experience and developing new skills allowing you to choose the career path that’s right for you.

    If your degree is in IT, Data Science or Data Analytics, Electrical & Electronics with Computer Science/IT, IT with Business, Software Engineering or similar and you’re interested in Digital Technology then this would be an exciting role for you.     Networking Infrastructure and Service Delivery and Operations Team

    Delivering improved IT services and innovative technical solutions, our Networking, Infrastructure and Service Delivery and Operations Team are a highly skilled and agile team who deliver, maintain and secure our network and underlying Infrastructure platforms. Working with the Global IT Team, we play a critical role in safeguarding the network as well as ensuring that the business, and our employees, have the hardware and software necessary to deliver. We’re the cornerstone of the IT function.

    To join our team you can have ANY DEGREE, because we’re interested in your enthusiasm for learning, your creativity and your vision. From day one, we’re invested in your development and will provide you with extensive training in each of our specialisms, allowing you to understand how the functions are interconnected, so that by the end of the programme you’ll be an IT expert. Your placement will give you all round experience of IT to help you explore your strengths and identify the career path that’s right for you.
