    An exciting opportunity to work in the Data Science team at Screwfix as a Graduate Business Data Analysis. You will deliver actionable analytics, reports and insight that adds significant value to the whole business. Using data visualisation and storytelling techniques to support more effective decision making whilst promoting a culture of striving to understand our customers better.

    Key responsibilties

    • Work with teams from around the business to understand problems and opportunities
    • Use statistical analysis techniques to report the effectiveness of marketing activities
    • Interrogate large volumes of data from a range of sources (online, customer verbatims, transactional etc) to use for analysis
    • Build reports, dashboards and visualisations that help consumers better understand problems and make decisions
    • Conduct robust statistical analysis to understand the root causes of problems
    • Develop new measurement frameworks that allow more in-depth understanding of customer behaviour
    • Deliver insight at regular forums to ensure your output is understood and utilised
    • Conduct proactive research to identify new ideas and opportunities
    • Continually invest time for your own professional development, ensuring you keep up to date with industry advancements
    • Contribute to the Screwfix Data and Insight community=no 

    Required skills and experience

    • Excellent problem solver
    • A minimum 2.1 STEM related degree
    • Can communicate effectively
    • Can summarise complex information
    • Good attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills
    • Prioritise and organise effectively
    • Work independently or within a team

    Desirable

    • Experience with one or more coding language
    • Good understanding of key analysis/modelling techniques
    • Able to combine and manipulate large and complex data sources
    • Comfortable using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, ideally with some experience in DAX and data modelling
